Why we do it
It is widely acknowledged that that the UK faces a housing shortage.
The last few years has seen a surge in domestic construction combined with a shortage of materials and the result has been an increase in prices and a shortage of skilled labour.
Some of the more frustrating issues that we have encountered through our decades of experience within the construction industry are finding suitably skilled contractors, jobs overrunning, budgets being exceeded, contractors leaving to start other jobs and snagging not being completed. We felt there had to be a better way.
At GMC we aim to create a more efficient environment for construction. We have the same trusted team(s) working on all jobs, ensuring the same quality of work for each pod and as we work in an industrial unit, we are not affected or delayed by bad weather.
Due to our off-site construction methods, we are able to predict costs more accurately and to avoid hidden costs appearing at the end of the project. Our work is specified in detail and well documented to provide the client with total transparency at all times.
Finally, at GMC we are constantly looking for ways to improve our product and innovate our design. The main reason we embarked upon this journey was to overcome some of the problems encountered by traditional builds and we have developed innovative ways to help with such issues as drainage access, foundations and site access.
